Shift: Evening Shift – 5x8 Hours (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Baltimore, MD. This position is ideal for professionals with strong experience in high-acuity hospital settings and expertise in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, and surgical instrument sterilization.
Please Note: This facility does not accept first-time travelers.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Process surgical trays and specialty instruments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure all instruments meet hospital and regulatory standards before distribution.
- Collaborate with Operating Room staff and other departments to support patient care.
- Follow AAMI, OSHA, and facility policies for sterile processing.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Trauma Level I or Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Travel experience required (First-time travelers will not be considered)
- Current CBSPD or HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Certification required
Experience with Equipment
Candidates should have experience using:
- Steam Sterilizers
- Washer Disinfectors
- V-PRO Low Temperature Sterilization Systems
- Medivators Scope Processing Systems
- Scope Buddy
- Cart Washers
Schedule & Requirements
- 13-week contract
- Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Weekend shifts required as scheduled
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating may be required within specialty, other units, and affiliated facilities within scope of practice
- No on-call requirement
