We are hiring a Front of House Manager to run dining room execution, lead service under pressure, and protect the guest experience during real-volume restaurant operations.
This is not a stand-around-and-supervise role. This role owns front-of-house flow in a high-volume Downtown Frankenmuth environment. The right candidate can lead a shift, control pacing, support the team, solve guest issues professionally, and keep standards from drifting when the restaurant gets busy.
We are looking for a manager who wants to lead inside a structured, high-accountability environment with clear standards.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Lead front-of-house execution during live service.
- Control seating flow, wait times, and section pacing so the floor stays organized, and service does not get flooded.
- Protect the guest experience by ensuring guests are greeted promptly, tables are maintained, delays are communicated early, and service recovery happens quickly when needed.
- Run pre-shift alignment and communicate key shift information including staffing, priorities, specials, limitations, and service focus.
- Coach servers, host(ess)es, bussers, and staff in real time while maintaining professional communication and calm control.
- Maintain dining room cleanliness, table readiness, restroom standards, and guest-facing presentation throughout the shift.
- Partner with kitchen and bar leadership to manage ticket timing, bottlenecks, and flow between departments.
- Complete shift notes, document issues clearly, and hand off important operational information, so there are no surprises between shifts.
- Support training and reinforce service standards, professionalism, accountability, and follow-through.
- Be part of a team that is ready for high-volume shifts and able to operate with discipline under pressure.
What Success Looks Like
- Guests are acknowledged quickly and know what happens next.
- The host(ess) stands stay organized and wait times are quoted honestly.
- Dining room sections are paced correctly, and servers are not overloaded.
- Food and drinks reach guests with urgency, and tables stay clean and reset-ready.
- Guest complaints are handled quickly, professionally, and without drama.
- The team knows the plan, follows standards, and communicates clearly across the shift.
- The dining room feels calm and in control even when volume spikes.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of restaurant management, assistant management, or strong shift-lead experience in a full-service environment.
- Ability to lead a front-of-house team during busy service periods.
- Strong judgment, urgency, and communication skills.
- Ability to coach employees in real time while staying professional and composed.
- Ability to manage pacing, table flow, and guest recovery.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
- Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods and move through an active restaurant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a tourism-driven, high-volume, or fast-paced restaurant.
- Experience with POS systems, waitlist systems, scheduling tools, and checklist-based operations.
- Experience training or onboarding front-of-house staff.
- Experience with service recovery, performance coaching, and shift documentation.
- The ability and willingness to plan, organize, and run in-house events is a plus.
What Kind of Person Will Do Well Here
You will do well in this role if you like structure, can make decisions at the moment, and do not melt when the room gets busy. You notice problems early. You communicate clearly. You hold standards. You help people, but you do not babysit chaos. You understand that great hospitality is not random—it is built through systems, follow-through, and leadership on the floor.
