Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Glendale, CA. This role supports payroll operations for an industrial facilities and infrastructure construction environment, with a strong focus on employee customer service, ticket management, payroll documentation, and accurate data entry.
The Payroll Clerk will serve as a frontline payroll support representative, helping employees receive timely, professional, and accurate answers to payroll-related questions. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll, administrative, or data entry experience who enjoys problem-solving, confidentiality, and supporting employees with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- Scan, review, and process payroll-related mail through the departmental ticketing system according to established guidelines.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries submitted through the ticketing system, payroll customer service line, and voicemail.
- Research, resolve, document, and route payroll tickets accurately while escalating complex or sensitive issues when needed.
- Perform payroll-related data entry with strong accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Communicate payroll information clearly and professionally, helping employees understand payroll processes and issue resolutions.
- Support the payroll team during peak cycles, absences, or high-volume periods to maintain service continuity.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $22 to $25 per hour.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Glendale, CA.
