Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and solution-oriented Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for helping maintain the overall condition, safety, appearance, and functionality of the hotel by performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, equipment areas, and back-of-house spaces.
The Hotel Maintenance Technician plays an important role in the guest experience by helping ensure the hotel stays clean, comfortable, operational, and well maintained. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in fixing problems, and wants to support a hotel team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment areas
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional, and service-focused manner
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general building issues
- Help maintain the overall appearance, safety, and condition of the hotel interior and exterior
- Inspect guest rooms, common areas, equipment, lighting, doors, locks, fixtures, and building systems for maintenance needs
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks and document completed work as required
- Assist with pool, fitness center, laundry, breakfast area, guest room, and public area maintenance as needed
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, property damage, or repair needs to hotel leadership
- Maintain tools, supplies, maintenance areas, storage spaces, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
- Follow hotel procedures for safety, security, chemical handling, equipment use, and guest privacy
- Communicate effectively with hotel leadership, front desk, housekeeping, and other departments
- Support the hotel team during busy periods, room turns, inspections, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Previous maintenance, facilities, building repair, hotel, apartment, construction, or related hands-on repair experience
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building repair
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance requests during the shift
- Ability to work on your feet, lift, bend, climb, push, pull, and complete physical work throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept property
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred
- Previous hotel maintenance or hospitality maintenance experience
- Experience working in a Wyndham, La Quinta, Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or other branded hotel environment
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs, work orders, and guest room maintenance
- HVAC, pool, electrical, plumbing, or related trade experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus
- Ability to handle on-call or after-hours maintenance needs when required

- Flexible schedule based on business needs
- Day shift and evening availability may be needed
- Weekends and holidays as needed
- On-call availability may be required based on hotel operations
