Job Description
We are looking for an experienced SCM Migration Specialist to lead enterprise mainframe modernization initiatives by migrating legacy source code management platforms to Git-based environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end SCM migration from Panvalet to Git platforms.
- Migrate COBOL, JCL, and DB2 source code repositories.
- Design and implement modern layered architecture for developer tools, SCM, CI/CD, and mainframe execution.
- Define Git repository standards, branching strategy, governance, and access controls.
- Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
- Implement mainframe builds using DBB, Zowe CLI, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Integrate modern development tools including Visual Studio Code, IDz, Zowe Explorer, DBB YAML, and Groovy.
- Develop migration documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Train development and operations teams on Git workflows and DevOps best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and continuously improve developer experience.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in mainframe development and architecture (z/OS).
- Proven experience migrating from Panvalet, Endevor, or Changeman to Git.
- Strong expertise with GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Experience with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with DBB, Zowe CLI, and modern mainframe DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, JES, and USS.
- Experience with SonarQube.
- Scripting experience in Shell, Python, or Groovy.
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
