Job Summary
Unity Care Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Camden County, NJ. In this role, you’ll help an individual build independence, participate in their communities, and live fulfilling lives — through in-home support, community-based activities, and individualized assistance. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience in the human services field.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–5:30 PM
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and household tasks as needed
- Support individuals in community inclusion activities — outings, social events, skill-building experiences
- Implement individualized support plans as directed by the agency and support coordinators
- Encourage and promote independence, self-advocacy, and personal choice
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services provided
- Ensure the health, safety, and dignity of the individuals you support at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and support coordinators regarding individual needs and progress
Skills
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred, but not required — we provide training
- Patient, compassionate, and reliable disposition
- Strong communication skills with individuals, families, and team members
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check, CARI check, and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
