Square One is a private nonprofit organization in Springfield, Mass. Our programs include early education and care, home-based care settings located throughout Springfield and out of school time care for elementary school age children. Our parent education, support and training programs are offered through groups, home visitation and personalized case management to help parents access whatever services are needed to be successful in their role as their child’s first teacher.
We are currently looking for a Receptionist interested in joining our team.
Hours: 7 AM - 10 AM Monday through Friday, occasional 8-hour days 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (anticipated on Fridays), and other coverage as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience or a high school diploma and 3 or more years of experience operating in a busy office setting
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact positively with co-workers, families, and children
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with effective time management skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
Duties:
- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with children, families, community organizations, support services, family engagement staff and members of Square One
- Greet families, volunteers, and community members in a warm and friendly manner
- Work with center director to coordinate and supervise daily operations
- Adhere to and follow all licensing requirements and Square One policies and procedures
- Manage tuition payments
- Manage multiple Excel spreadsheets, TEAMS spreadsheets for enrollment, and data collection
- Prepare and process confidential information
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff
- Manage children’s files and emergency cards
- Oversee scheduling and confirming appointments, maintaining multiple schedules
- Operate a multi-line phone system
- Open or close center following Square One procedures
- Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of office inventory
- Oversee the coordination of repair and maintenance of office equipment
- Maintain security of building
- Manage daily transportation lists for bus monitors
- Manage daily center attendance
- Maintain a neat and orderly shared workspace
- Assist director with overflow tasks, such as making copies and communicating with staff and families
- Cover staff breaks as needed
- Assist with data collection and entry
- Other duties as assigned
Employment Requirements:
- Complete EEC background records check
- Complete new employee orientation
- Complete EEC required trainings
- Have current first aid/CPR certificate or obtain certificate within 90 days of employment

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
