Hiring Full Time Behavior Technician for Early Intervention Applied Behavior Analysis Clinic working with clients diagnosed with autism ages 2-8 yr/old.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Thompson Center behavior technicians work under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and will be registered as line technicians with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board
- Our technicians will be expected to carry out and implement all behavior plans and skill acquisition programming in the clinic setting for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
- Thompson Center behavior technicians are trained to implement programming that includes but isn't limited to the acquisition of language and functional communication skills, self help skills, social behavior/social play skills, and other target behaviors.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIOn
- Previous work with children preferred
- Previous work with children with special needs highly preferred
- The Thompson Center will provide and facilitate the registration process with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board
- Background check with the Louisiana State Police will be required
JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Full time registered line technicians will be expected to work with clients Monday-Thursday 8:30-3:30, and Fridays 8:30-12:30.
- RLTs collect data and implement ABA based services under the direct supervision of the BCBA and are expected to collect accurate and timely data.
- RLTs will be expected to protect the private health information of their clients, and carry out services in an ethical manner.
- RLTs will be expected to communicate effectively with their supervisor, coworkers, and client's families.
- RLTs will receive 6-8 hours of supervision per month working with their client, and will be expected to pass and maintain their passing scores on competency checks throughout supervision.
- RLTs are expected to report findings on patient progress to the BCBA, and communicate these findings effectively and professionally.
- RLTS must be able to work with clients seated on the floor and small chairs, and should be able to move frequently throughout the clinic setting including going up and down stairs throughout the day.
- RLTs must be able to work in the indoor and outdoor settings throughout the year.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Hourly pay will be commensurate with experience
- Therapists will receive paid time off for holidays, vacation, and sick days
- Additional training and certifications may be offered depending on experience and interest
- Opportunities to participate in research may be available depending on experience and education
