About Us
CMI is a full-service printing, sign and shipping business serving southeast Arizona. We're looking for a friendly, dependable Shipping Clerk to join our team and help our customers get their packages where they need to go.
Position Overview
As our Shipping Clerk, you'll be the go-to person for customers who need to ship packages through UPS, FedEx, and the U.S. Postal Service. You'll guide customers through their options, prepare shipments accurately, and ensure every package is handled with care.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with shipping packages via UPS, FedEx, and the U.S. Postal Service
- Advise customers on shipping options, rates, and estimated delivery times
- Accurately process and print shipping labels
- Pack and box items for shipment as needed, ensuring proper protection for contents
- Weigh and measure packages and calculate shipping costs
- Track shipments and assist customers with delivery inquiries
- Receive and log incoming packages
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked shipping area
- Adhere to carrier guidelines and postal regulations
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow instructions and carrier-specific procedures
- Basic computer skills for processing shipments and printing labels
- Ability to lift and move packages (up to 50 lbs)
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in shipping, retail, or a customer-facing role
- Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, or USPS shipping platforms
- Experience with packing and handling fragile or irregularly shaped items
