Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Sort and organize clean items for proper storage and easy access by kitchen staff
- Follow strict food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including handling ingredients and supporting meal assembly
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots, trays, or boxes of supplies with proper technique
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and surrounding areas throughout shifts
- Support the kitchen team during busy service times by providing prompt and reliable dish support
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with food preparation equipment are advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production environments is highly valued
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Basic math skills for managing dish counts and supply inventory
