Education –Preference: Graduation as a BSN RN curriculum from an accredited professional school of Nursing
Experience – Three (3) years relevant experience is preferred.
Licenses & Certification – Must possess current State of Oklahoma Nursing License. Certification in Diabetes Foot Care or/and Wound Care is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills –
High degree of knowledge and skills in providing preventive and treatment interventions to persons with diabetes in outpatient settings including initial, routine, urgent, annual and complication care.
Knowledge of ADA, IHS, MCNDH and Diabetes Program guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge and skills to provide preventive and treatment interventions to persons with diabetes in an outpatient setting including initial, routine, urgent, annual and complication care.
The purpose of this position is to organize, coordinate, implement, evaluate and provide lower extremity preventive services throughout the MCNDH clinics. The incumbent will work with staffs of the Diabetes Prevention and Management Program and other MCNDH clinic staff to accomplish these services.
Work is performed in an office and clinical environment with normal risk of exposure to the hazards associated with each setting. There is regular and recurring risk of exposure to infectious communicable diseases, potentially hazardous chemicals and bio-hazardous materials. Incumbent must be aware of all risks involved and be willing to take necessary precautions. Some travel may be required.
The work requires normal demands of working within the MCNDH clinics and offices. Driving a GSA vehicle may be required to travel to other MCNDH facilities. Must have valid license and be insurable.
