About this opportunity:
As a childcare worker your role is essential to keeping camp running smoothly as you help care for staff children. You will be responsible for providing a fun, safe and supportive environment, including assisting with personal car and hygiene, and learning and development activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provides care to staff children throughout the day, and assists putting staff children to bed, as needed

Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the childcare property.
- Model Christian values and integrate faith into daily interactions and programming

Aids in household duties, such as laundry.

Utilize appropriate behavior management and communication techniques as trained.

Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team in overall camp programming, special events, and evening activities as part of a collaborative staff team
- Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED preferred.
- A heart for others and a mind towards Christ.
- Should be self-motivated and teachable.
- Six months’ experience teaching child development or youth programs in a church preferred, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelle's policies.

Must be able to pass a state and federal background check.
Additional Information:
- Camp Staff Training will be held June 8 – June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer camp program sessions will be held June 15 - July 26, 2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
