Cardiac Technician – RWJBarnabas Health
At RWJBarnabas Health, Cardiac Technician operates and assists in the monitoring of a patient on the Cardiothoracic Stepdown Unit. As a Cardiac Technician you administer individualized, professional patient care through efficient knowledge and safe practice of cardiothoracic step down unit procedures. A typical day for a Cardiac Technician may include:

Assuming responsibility for patient care and monitoring before, during and after procedures under the direction and supervision of an RN.

Executing special assignments with the unit assigned to them by the clinical director, ADPC or RN. Participates in quality improvement programs and inventory control.
- Using an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.

To be considered for this Cardiac Technician opportunity, you are passionate about supporting safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and collaborative teamwork. You have successfully completed a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) , are Certified in Phlebotomy within 3 months of hire, have Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification or Patient Care Technician certification.
