Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of residential or commercial properties. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for performing cleaning duties, managing laundry services, and ensuring all spaces meet high standards of sanitation and comfort. Your role is vital in creating a welcoming environment for residents, guests, or clients.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of indoor spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface sanitation to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Handle laundry tasks such as washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and clothing with care and efficiency.
- Maintain floor care through sweeping, scrubbing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to preserve flooring quality.
- Manage outdoor work responsibilities such as patio cleaning, trash removal, and maintaining outdoor furniture or fixtures when applicable.
- Use manual handling techniques to lift and move heavy furniture or equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing residents’ or guests’ needs professionally and courteously.
- Follow sanitation standards rigorously to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with housekeeping management tasks including scheduling, inventory control, and training new staff members when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning environments with a focus on janitorial or custodial duties.
- Prior hotel housekeeping experience is highly desirable for understanding hospitality standards.
- Skilled in various cleaning techniques such as carpet cleaning, floor care, and sanitation procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during routine tasks.
- Experience with laundry services and managing household or hotel linens is preferred.
- Knowledge of outdoor maintenance tasks related to property upkeep is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in fast-paced settings.
- Familiarity with housekeeping management systems or scheduling tools is a plus for supervisory roles.
