Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide specialized occupational therapy services to children in outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help young patients develop essential skills for daily living, improve motor functions, and enhance their overall quality of life. Responsibilities
- Assess children’s motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to develop personalized care plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), coordination, fine motor skills, and sensory integration
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical staff to coordinate comprehensive care
- Assist children with disabilities or developmental delays in achieving developmental milestones and adapting to their environments
- Conduct discharge planning to ensure seamless transition from therapy services to home or school settings
- Work with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions using evidence-based strategies
- Document patient progress meticulously and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care
- Experience working in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and early intervention programs
- Proficiency in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong case management skills for coordinating services across multiple providers and settings
- Familiarity with assisting children with ADLs and supporting discharge planning processes
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism and other disabilities across different age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics when applicable
- Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach toward children and their families
