Luna Data Solutions has an immediate contract position opening (contract term 6 months with possible extension) for a NOC Team Lead resource with our client located in Austin, TX. *Thie resource must work onsite 4 to 5 days/week.
NOC Team LeadRole Overview
We’re looking for an experienced NOC Team Lead to provide technical leadership, operational direction, and mentorship for our Level 1 Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role is a key part of ensuring reliable, high-quality service delivery while driving strong operational performance, effective incident management, and an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in network and telecom operations, a passion for developing technical talent, and the ability to confidently lead teams through both day-to-day operations and complex incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Level 1 engineers, fostering technical growth, accountability, and a high-performing team culture.
- Oversee daily NOC operations, including ticket management, prioritization, incident response, and escalations.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring adherence to SLAs, SLOs, SOPs, and established ITIL-aligned processes.
- Provide technical leadership during complex incidents, coordinating troubleshooting efforts and helping the team quickly restore service.
- Serve as a key escalation point for technical issues while providing clear communication to management, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor team and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Deliver operational reporting and quarterly business reviews, providing meaningful insights into service performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Partner across technical and business teams to strengthen processes, improve service quality, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in network and telecom operations, ideally within a NOC or managed-services environment.
- Strong knowledge of NOC operations, incident management, and ITIL-aligned service management practices.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms; BMC Helix experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate technical teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer-facing and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear business-level updates.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands, manage escalations, and maintain composure during high-impact incidents.
