American Traveler is hiring a travel CVOR RN for a 13-week assignment in Portsmouth, NH, requiring cardiac, vascular, and thoracic OR experience with a call commitment and day shift schedule.

Located in the CVOR unit of an acute care hospital on the seacoast of New Hampshire, one hour north of Boston
-
Unit consists of 3 OR suites with a staff of 11, including a charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, and an aide or anesthesia tech on day shift
-
Night shift is covered by a 3-member on-call team (2 RNs and a scrub tech)

Patient ratio is 3 staff members per OR suite

Procedures performed include CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation/interventions, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, and ECMO

Level 2 trauma coverage for all vascular and thoracic procedures

EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred)

Day shift hours are 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Call requirement is approximately one weekend per month and 2–3 days per week

13-week contract

Active NH or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required

Cardiac, vascular, and thoracic OR experience is required

Ability to maintain a 30-minute call-back response time
-
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
-
One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Ability to scrub cardiac and vascular cases is strongly preferred
-
All time-off requests must be established prior to or within the contract
-
Scrubs are provided by the facility

The unit is a close-knit, experienced team with several long-tenured members
-
The hospital is situated on the New Hampshire seacoast, approximately 1 hour north of Boston and 1.5 hours south of the White Mountains
