Glazing Technician
Job Description
The Glazing Technician is responsible for the fabrication, preparation, assembly, installation support, and inspection of commercial glass, aluminum framing systems, entrances, storefronts, curtain wall systems, doors, hardware, and related glazing materials. This position requires precise measuring skills, blueprint interpretation, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to utilize company software systems. The Glazing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring products are fabricated, assembled, and delivered according to project specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately measure glass, aluminum framing, doors, hardware, and related materials using tape measures and measuring devices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Fabricate, assemble, and prepare commercial aluminum storefront systems, curtain wall systems, entrances, doors, frames, and related materials.
- Prepare, handle, inspect, and process glass products according to project requirements.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, cutting equipment, and production machinery.
- Utilize company software systems to access work orders, drawings, production schedules, and project information.
- Verify measurements and specifications prior to fabrication, assembly, or processing.
- Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, dimensions, and material quantities.
- Inspect completed materials for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
- Load, unload, move, and transport glass, aluminum, doors, frames, hardware, and related materials safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Assist installation teams with material preparation and project support as required.
- Support production schedules and team objectives to meet customer deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCERequired
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform measurements using fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use company software systems.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to commercial glazing and aluminum fabrication.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred
- Experience in commercial glazing, aluminum fabrication, storefront systems, curtain wall systems, entrances, doors, frames, or related construction trades.
- Experience using fabrication equipment and production machinery.
- OSHA certification or other industry-related training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.31 - $23.63 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
