The Shipping Specialist at Couverture Covers is to oversee our shipping operations and help ensure every order is delivered with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Operations Management
- Oversee the packing, labeling, boxing, and shipping of custom furniture covers to customers across the U.S. and internationally.
- Ensure orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in excellent condition.
- Manage and maintain shipping schedules to meet strict customer deadlines.
- Mail out swatches to customers.
Local Deliveries and Material Pickups
- Pick up fabric rolls and other materials from vendors and suppliers as needed.
Inventory Coordination
- Monitor inventory levels of shipping supplies, including boxes, labels, and packing materials.
- Collaborate with production staff to confirm orders are ready for shipment.
Physical Shipping and Handling
- Box and package items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Safely lift, carry, and move packages, fabric rolls, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate dollies, pallet jacks, or other equipment to facilitate shipping and handling tasks.
- Help out with other warehouse duties as needed.
Carrier Management
- Manage relationships with shipping carriers to negotiate rates, ensure quality service, and resolve any issues.
- Stay updated on shipping regulations, tariffs, and compliance standards for both domestic and international shipments.
Process Improvement
- Develop and implement efficient shipping workflows to improve accuracy and reduce costs.
- Analyze shipping performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, and logistics.
- Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail to ensure orders are processed and shipped accurately.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with shipping software such as UPS, FedEx, Netsuite, DHL, and USPS tracking systems.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations and procedures.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Driving: A valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle for deliveries and pickups.
