About the Position
A warm San Francisco family is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly engaging full-time nanny for their active and curious 6-month-old son.
Both parents have demanding careers and are looking for a nanny they can trust to confidently take ownership of their son's day-to-day care. The ideal candidate will naturally observe the baby's changing needs, keep him engaged, plan age-appropriate activities and outings, and bring thoughtful ideas and observations to the parents.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a career nanny who genuinely enjoys the developmental side of infant care and wants to grow with a family long-term.
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for a 6-month-old
- Manage bottles, feeding, diapering, and nap routines
- Adapt routines and activities as the baby's wake windows and developmental needs change
- Engage the baby through floor play, reading, singing, talking, movement, sensory play, and age-appropriate activities
- Proactively plan activities and outings throughout the week
- Take the baby to parks, libraries, story times, classes, playgroups, and other age-appropriate activities
- Independently navigate San Francisco by walking, driving, and using MUNI/public transportation
- Prepare simple, age-appropriate foods and support the baby's transition to solids
- Introduce a variety of foods and textures based on the parents' preferences
- Wash bottles, dishes, and feeding utensils
- Complete baby laundry approximately once per week or as needed
- Keep feeding, play, and nursery areas clean and organized
- Clean toys and other frequently used baby items as needed
- Reset the baby's spaces during nap periods
- Provide parents with a thoughtful daily update covering meals, naps, activities, outings, and meaningful observations
- Occasionally assist with a bath when needed after particularly messy meals or activities
Ideal Candidate
The family is especially interested in someone who is:
- Highly proactive and comfortable taking ownership of the baby's day
- Warm, patient, nurturing, and emotionally attuned
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Naturally communicative and engaging with babies
- Interested in supporting development through play, language, movement, food exploration, and new experiences
- Comfortable getting out of the house regularly and exploring San Francisco with a child
- Confident researching and suggesting new activities rather than waiting for parents to provide a daily itinerary
- Comfortable collaborating with parents and extended family
- Looking for a long-term position
Language
- English communication skills required
- Mandarin is a strong plus, but not required
- Candidates who speak Mandarin are encouraged to apply, as the family would value Mandarin language exposure for their son
Phone Use
Phones may be used appropriately for parent communication, photos and updates, navigation, researching activities, scheduling, and emergencies.
Personal entertainment or recreational screen use is not permitted while actively responsible for the child.

- Strong professional infant-care experience
- Experience caring for babies beyond the newborn stage
