Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for keeping our workspaces, public areas, and facilities spotless and well-maintained. Your efforts will help create a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients alike. The ideal candidate is proactive, experienced in custodial tasks, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums to ensure thorough sanitation.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing cleaning and sanitation duties, following all safety protocols.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to ensure a professional appearance.
- Support general facilities maintenance activities like minor repairs or reporting issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to safety procedures during all cleaning operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and other custodial tools effectively.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for the role.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocol adherence.
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning practices is a plus.
