The HSE Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing environmental programs, safety practices, and regulatory compliance. This includes daily and long-term safety and environmental health programs, waste water treatment system oversight, safety inspections, employee training, and adherence to ISO 14001:2015, RCRA, DOT, and TCEQ requirements.
- Conduct alternating facility walkthroughs to monitor PPE compliance, hazards, and safety behaviors
- Visual inspection and log of wastewater treatment system, trench drains, storm drains (6 per site), containment pits
- Inspect process tanks for leaks; address water and chemical spills
- Check and log pressure readings at emission points
- Operate dryer and fill day tanks at wastewater system
- Coordinate with support staff to clean machines and remove oil/coolant
- Respond to employee safety/environmental concerns
- Follow up on SafetyCulture items and prior incident actions
- Support lab staff at both facilities as needed (sampling, delivery, PRFs)
- Inspect and log eyewash stations and spill kits
- Clean filter press and ensure wastewater system upkeep
- Generate and submit PRFs for chemistry and maintenance supplies
- Chrome, nickel, sulfuric etch, carbide strip, and nickel plate analysis and reporting
- Assist lab and wastewater leads with sample analysis and ongoing projects
- Assist satellite facility (e.g., Dixie) with training or troubleshooting as needed
- Inspect and log fire extinguishers
- Review and update emergency and quarterly plans
- Update ISO 14001 inspection logs, and environmental maintenance logs
- Log amp hours for plating equipment
- Conduct employee training tied to ISO certification requirements
- Wastewater sampling and analysis, coordinated with maintenance schedules
- Conduct quarterly inspections: hazardous waste, emergency equipment, safety systems
- Support quarterly RCRA inspections and documentation
- Schedule major maintenance projects (e.g., scrubber unit work, filter changes)
- Review permit statuses, invoicing, and due dates
