Position Overview
Calculated Hire is seeking a Business Execution Consultant IV to support a Product Management team within a Fortune 100 financial services organization. This consultant will serve as a Product Owner / Business Execution partner supporting initiatives focused on modernizing and launching real-time money movement and payment capabilities.
This is a highly collaborative role within a small, specialized product team operating in a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of Product Owner/Product Management, Business Analysis, and Project Management experience, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements, coordinate across stakeholders, and drive work through execution.
The role requires someone who is comfortable operating in a meeting-heavy, stakeholder-heavy environment, where success depends less on knowing every system upfront and more on the ability to learn quickly, connect complex information, understand how systems and processes fit together, and determine what needs to happen next.
This is an opportunity to act as a Product Owner supporting the modernization of real-time payment and money movement rails at one of the largest financial institutions in the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Product Management activities across complex, cross-functional initiatives within the payments organization.
- Act as a Product Owner / Business Execution partner, helping translate product objectives and business needs into actionable requirements and deliverables.
- Partner with Product Managers, business stakeholders, technology teams, and other enterprise partners to understand requirements, clarify priorities, and drive execution.
- Develop, refine, and maintain epics, user stories, business requirements, acceptance criteria, and related product documentation.
- Support the Product team in maintaining a clear and actionable backlog and ensuring requirements are appropriately defined and ready for execution.
- Provide project management and coordination support across broader initiatives, including tracking deliverables, dependencies, risks, decisions, and milestones.
- Work across a highly matrixed environment with 20+ stakeholders spanning multiple teams, systems, and functions.
- Connect information across business and technology teams to understand how different components of a complex solution fit together.
- Review and interpret technical diagrams, system flows, process documentation, and complex architecturesand translate that information into actionable business/product requirements.
- Help establish and streamline processes for requirements intake, documentation, story development, and team execution.
- Support Agile/Scrum practices and leverage tools such as Jira and Confluence to organize and communicate work.
- Clean up and improve Jira stories, backlog structure, and documentation standards.
- Develop or improve intake processes and Confluence documentation to create greater consistency and transparency across the team.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, working sessions, Agile ceremonies, and project discussions, ensuring action items and deliverables remain on track.
- Proactively identify gaps, dependencies, and potential blockers and work with appropriate stakeholders to resolve them.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners regarding project status, requirements, risks, and next steps.
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables while remaining focused on the priorities and scope established by the Product team.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or a closely related environment.
- Previous experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or in a comparable product/business execution role.
- Demonstrated experience translating business needs into requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable deliverables.
- Experience working within a complex, cross-functional and matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Strong project management mindset, including the ability to manage priorities, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain focus on defined priorities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of meetings, stakeholder interactions, and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across business and technology teams.
- Ability to learn complex business and technical environments and connect the dots across systems, processes, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within payments, real-time payments, faster payments, treasury, money movement, or related financial services products.
- Experience as a Product Owner supporting enterprise technology or financial services products.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, including backlog/story management and documentation.
- Understanding of the payment lifecycle and/or payment processing environments.
- Experience interpreting complex technical architectures, system diagrams, process flows, or integration models.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level transformation, modernization, or technology initiatives.
- Experience working across multiple technology platforms, APIs, or integrated enterprise systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is not simply a Business Analyst or Jira administrator. This person should bring a combination of Product Owner, Business Analysis, and Project Management capabilities and be comfortable operating within a complex enterprise environment.
They should be a focused, mature, self-directed professional who can absorb a significant amount of information, determine what is relevant to their work, and turn that knowledge into tangible outputs.
The successful candidate will not be expected to know the organization's payment architecture on day one. Instead, they should demonstrate the ability to learn complex environments, understand how different pieces fit together, ask thoughtful questions, and progressively take ownership of workstreams and deliverables.
