Position Summary
The Golf Maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the golf course grounds to ensure optimal playing conditions and a high-quality experience for all golfers. This role involves performing routine landscaping, operating equipment, and assisting with course setup. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Course Maintenance & Landscaping
- Perform routine groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removal
- Maintain greens, fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes to ensure excellent playing conditions
- Apply basic turf care techniques to support healthy grass growth and course appearance
Equipment Operation & Care
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy-duty equipment safely and effectively
- Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment
- Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs promptly
Course Setup
- Assist in daily golf course setup, including hole placement, tee markers, and flag placement
- Prepare the course before play to meet POA quality standards
General Maintenance
- Monitor course conditions and identify areas needing attention
- Assist with irrigation systems and minor repairs when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and organizational guidelines
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or golf course maintenance preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of lawn care and turf maintenance practices
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, with a strong work ethic and proactive approach
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Early morning, weekend, and holiday work may be required to support course operations
