Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Experienced Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team, providing vital support to individuals in a caring and respectful environment. This role offers consistent weekly pay with shifts scheduled on Wednesdays from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 11am to 5pm. The ideal candidate will bring energy, attention to detail, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for those in our care. You will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and supporting their overall well-being in a nurturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas, including cleaning personal spaces and common areas to promote hygiene and comfort
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe resident transfers and mobility assistance
- Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations, interventions, and any incidents accurately
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer’s care strategies
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently in emergency situations
- Strong skills in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and patient care documentation
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is preferred
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically assisting residents with mobility needs using proper techniques and equipment
- Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills and patience for working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
