As a Composite Aircraft Technician, you will be instrumental in conducting specialized fiberglass repairs and composite work, including bodywork, on experimental aircraft, catering to the unique needs of our clients. Your role will involve meticulously inspecting, maintaining, and modifying aircraft structures, ensuring they meet stringent safety and performance standards. While possessing prior experience in aviation or experimental aircraft maintenance is advantageous, individuals with a strong mechanical background and expertise in composite materials are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute fiberglass repairs and composite work on experimental aircraft, adhering to precise specifications outlined by each client's project requirements.
- Identify, diagnose, and rectify structural issues, ensuring the integrity and airworthiness of the aircraft.
- Perform bodywork repairs, addressing surface imperfections, preparing surfaces for finishing, and applying coatings to ensure a flawless exterior appearance.
- Collaborate closely with the team and clients to implement modifications or enhancements to aircraft structures and components.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging techniques, and safety protocols related to composite aircraft maintenance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all repair and maintenance activities, maintaining accurate records of each aircraft's structural history.
- Assist in developing maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant aviation regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in composite materials and fiberglass repair techniques, preferably within the aviation or aerospace sector.
- In-depth understanding of aircraft structures, including composite materials, laminates, and bonding processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics related to aircraft structures.
