Job Description:
We are seeking experienced English-to-Spanish Curriculum Translators to support the development of a high-quality Advanced Mathematics instructional program for Grades 6–8. Translators will work as part of a collaborative team responsible for adapting newly developed Advanced Math content while maintaining consistency with previously approved instructional materials, terminology, and state standards.
This role is best suited for independent consultants who can dedicate a consistent 30+ hours per week to curriculum translation work. This role requires more than direct translation. Contractors will leverage existing approved Spanish content where possible, identify and translate new material, and ensure consistency with established glossaries, terminology, and curriculum documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Assigned responsibilities may include one or more of the following:
· Compare newly developed Advanced English curriculum content against corresponding on-level English materials to identify new, revised, or reusable content.
· Review and incorporate approved on-level Spanish translations wherever applicable to ensure consistency across programs.
· Translate new or modified curriculum content from English to Spanish when existing translations do not exist.
· Implement project-specific Spanish "roadmap" edits, as directed.
· Verify translated terminology against approved project glossaries and/or style guides.
· Update source-of-truth documents with translated content to support subsequent verification steps.
· Translate approved English standards citations into Spanish.
· Collaborate with editors, QA reviewers, project managers, and production staff to address feedback and revisions.
· Meet established production schedules and quality expectations while adhering to project workflows and documentation standards.
Qualifications
· Professional experience translating educational or instructional materials from English to Spanish. (Required)
· Demonstrated experience working with K–12 curriculum content.
· Excellent written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency across large document sets.
· Demonstrated experience working as a freelancer, contractor, or in a production-based content development environment.
· Skilled in basic software tools (Microsoft Suite [Excel and Word] and Adobe Acrobat) and technology and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar programs
· Proven ability to self-manage workload, maintain productivity, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience translating K-12 mathematics curriculum.
· Familiarity with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills or other state educational standards.
· Translation certification (ATA, CTP, or equivalent).
· Experience working on large-scale educational publishing or curriculum development projects.
