Detailer – Industrial Structural Drafting
Join a team of engineering professionals focused on the design and delivery of industrial equipment for power generation projects worldwide. This hybrid position is based in Fenton, Missouri, and centers on creating detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings for industrial structural systems.

This role provides the opportunity to contribute directly to the design and development of equipment that supports the efficiency and reliability of modern power generation facilities. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will help produce custom-engineered solutions for complex industrial projects.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create, review, and check detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using information from multiple engineering disciplines.
- Develop general arrangement, fabrication, and field construction drawings for industrial equipment and structural components.
- Enter design information into database/XML exchange formats to support fabrication drawing generation.
- Train and mentor newer team members on drafting standards, procedures, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Maintain current design documentation using document management systems and project tracking tools.
- Update project schedules and status reports to communicate progress.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced drafting and 3D modeling, including engineering and fabrication drawing creation.
- Associate degree or technical/vocational education preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of AISC structural standards, international structural shapes, AWS welding symbols, and related drafting practices.
- Experience using Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze technical information, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Experience troubleshooting drafting software and assisting less experienced team members is preferred.
Additional Information
- Hybrid work arrangement based on business needs.
- Occasional domestic travel (up to 10%) may be required, including visits to industrial facilities involving stair towers, ladders, and confined spaces.
