Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a fun, friendly, informative, and efficient experience for dog owners, delivering an exceptional grooming experience.
- Effectively communicate with pet guardians, adhering to grooming instructions, including specific breed standards.
- Perform a range of dog grooming services, including brushing, bathing, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and nail trimming
- Contribute to sales growth by engaging pet parents and offering grooming solutions that support the long-term health and well-being of their beloved pets.
- Train and mentor groomers, stylists, and bathers in grooming techniques, ensuring adherence to grooming salon procedures.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining salon standard operating procedures.
- Safely handle and care for all dogs under your supervision.
- Maintain accurate grooming schedules, complete necessary paperwork, and conduct customer call backs.
- Ensure all grooming and retail area remains clean and hygienic throughout and after each grooming session, upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Collaborate with owners, managers, staff, and local clientele to build the grooming business.
- Ensure inventory is well-stocked, organized, and displayed to optimize customer experience and sales.
- Assist customers in finding the right products while maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment that aligns with Kirkwood Pets' high standards.
- Be responsible for additional duties assigned by the manager.
Successful Applicants for a Pet Stylist/Groomer Must Meet the Following Criteria
- Previous experience as a groomer or a bather.
- Willingness to learn and collaborate with the team
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds, working in a noisy environment, and enduring physically challenging labor for a significant portion of the shift.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Quick learner who can adapt to new products and services and train team members accordingly.
- A talent for cultivating new and existing relationships with guests and vendors.
- Ability to consistently produce quality, detailed work.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Great to have
- 3 or years of previous grooming experience. The ability to provide a portfolio of your work during the interview (or a combination of experience and certification/training).
