Position Description
The Head Field Hockey Coach is responsible for organizing, developing, and leading a competitive and values-driven program. The coach will foster a positive team culture, emphasize athlete growth and development, and promote sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success while representing the school with integrity.
General Responsibilities
- Communicate the CCES Field Hockey program’s vision and expectations with students, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee all aspects of the Field Hockey program.
- Demonstrate a high-level knowledge of the sport, including player development, team development, and management.
- Plan and conduct safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Promote and support student engagement in the strength and conditioning program to enhance athletic performance, safety, and overall student wellness.
- Ensure a commitment to academic success and partner with CCES faculty and school leadership.
- Maintain equipment, uniforms (distribution and collection), and practice facilities.
- Enforce NFHS rules and guidelines, school rules, and policies.
- Participate in the CCES Coaches Leadership program and collaborate with other head and assistant coaches at required meetings.
- Drive a CCES mini-bus (14 passenger).
- Create an inclusive, motivating environment that encourages participation and improvement.
- Support multi-sport athletes and promote long-term athletic development.
- Emphasize goal setting, teamwork, resilience, and personal responsibility.
- Support students and their families through the recruiting process for those with the desire to compete at the collegiate level.

Education and/or Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading a field hockey program
- Experience mentoring student-athletes and promoting sportsmanship, safety, and academic priorities
Must have a valid driver’s license
