Gordian Energy Systems is growing rapidly and has an immediate need for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Commercial Solar team.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting on installed systems to ensure the successful deployment of all projects.
- Collaborate with managers & project teams to develop commissioning best practices.
- Provide technical support during inspections & audits.
- Assist project engineers in coordinating commissioning activities.
- Prepare commissioning reports & client deliverables as dictated by project scope.
- Collaborate with project and construction teams to ensure quality workmanship during installation.
- Inspect and validate system components, wiring, and connections to meet industry standards.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution include faults, alarms and other occurrences that might affect system performance.
- Documentation and Reporting of plans, procedures and checklists.
- Document test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Generate comprehensive commissioning reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Coordination with design, project engineers and other team members.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with utility companies, grid operators, and regulatory authorities.
- Client Training and hand-off.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in Commercial solar PV system installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- Technical knowledge of solar inverter operation and PV systems electrical configurations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with electrical testing.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant solar field experience.
- Ability to work independently and to lead and coach teams.
- Occasional Travel required.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Attention to the safety of our jobsites and our people.
Preferred Experience, but not required:
- Electrical engineering degree or relevant technical experience.
- Experience with SCADA systems and network communication related to solar plants.
- Experience working with Utility scale solar projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $98,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
