As a Barista, you are a key part of the guest experience, providing warm, efficient service while executing our coffee program with care and consistency. You are knowledgeable about coffee and tea offerings, support daily café operations, and contribute to the evolution of our beverage program through learning, creativity, and collaboration.
All roles at Under-Study are flexible and team-oriented. While each team member takes ownership of an area of responsibility, we work together, support one another, and step in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and prepare coffee and tea beverages with efficiency and attention to quality
Maintain strong knowledge of our coffee program, including our partnership with Black Oak Coffee
Follow SOPs for cleanliness, equipment use, and maintenance
Execute opening and closing duties for the coffee station and café
Maintain familiarity with food and beverage ingredients, dietary considerations, and allergies
Operate the TOAST POS system accurately, including payments and returns
Maintain cleanliness and organization of coffee stations, service areas, and displays
Monitor and communicate supply and restocking needs
Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, engaging service
Support general café operations, including shared service and upkeep responsibilities
Requirements
1+ year barista experience
Food Handler’s Certificate
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
