Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Operations the Truck Driver position has a variety of tasks including but not limited to operating a dump truck, blading gravel roads, hauling materials, patching holes, snow removal, minor truck maintenance is required, such as changing blades on the underbody scraper, general building and yard cleanup may also be performed. All Truck Driver must have a CDL Class A.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
included but not limited to the following:
· Perform Reports to: Director of Operations
· Manual labor, dig ditches for drainage, pothole repair, guardrail repair and installation, culvert repair and installation, tree trimming, brush control, load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
· Operate trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
· Operate heavy-duty trucks with snowplows, underbody blades, sand, and salt spreaders to remove ice and snow accumulation from roadways.
· Hauls and dumps material
· Track and record materials, supplies, time, and equipment used for each work project
· Maintain/clean assigned vehicle or equipment.
· Abide by all SJCRC Safety Manual and Safety regulations as applicable.
· Understand and operate any additional equipment attached or utilized as part of the equipment’s capability, (measuring instruments, hand power tools, AVL, automation, etc.)
· Communicate with the public courteously and effectively
· Work independently as well as with other employees
· Available to work extended hours if needed

· Other duties as assigned

Required Education and/or Experience:
- A high school diploma/GED or equivalent work/life experience
- One year of experience in construction or related field and truck driving preferred
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license
· CDL Class A
· General familiarity with roadway safety.

Working Conditions:
· Ability to work long hours inside and/or outside in summer and winter conditions on projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to converse orally with telephone or radio, and to receive and communicate information to other employees and the public
- Ability to tolerate, be exposed to, and work in extreme temperature and weather conditions when needed

Salary Range
Hourly base rate starting at $28.38
Applicants should have valid Michigan Class A Commercial Driver's License, a DOT physical card, and pass a background check, drug and alcohol test.
