We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to provide adult behavioral health services within our treatment program on a contractor/per diem basis at our onsite Mission Viejo location. This position is anticipated to provide services one day per week, with approximately four (4) to six (6) patients scheduled on that day. The Psychiatrist will play a vital role in supporting patient care through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing behavioral health services in a professional and compassionate environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and assessments for adult behavioral health patients
- Provide ongoing onsite patient care, medication management, and psychiatric support within the treatment program
- Collaborate with therapists, medical providers, clinical staff, and the interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient progress and care recommendations
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation including evaluations, progress notes, medication records, treatment recommendations, and related records in compliance with HIPAA and program requirements
- Monitor patient response to medications and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
- Maintain professional standards of care and ethical clinical practices
- Provide recommendations for continued care, referrals, or additional treatment services when necessary
Requirements
- Current California Physician and Surgeon license and Board Certification/Eligibility in Psychiatry
- DEA license in good standing
- Experience working with adult behavioral health and/or mental health populations preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, medication management, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and behavioral health documentation standards
- Must be able to provide onsite services in Mission Viejo, California
