Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lunch & Recess Supervisor. In this part-time position(2 hours per day), you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and structured environment for students during lunch and recess periods. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise students, promote positive behavior, and facilitate engaging activities that encourage social interaction and physical activity.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunch and recess to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules and policies consistently.
- Encourage positive social interactions among students and provide conflict resolution support as needed.
- Assist students with lunch-related tasks, including opening food containers and ensuring cleanliness in the dining area.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to promote a positive school culture.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, addressing any hazards or issues promptly.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required to stay updated on school policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in child development or education is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a calm and constructive manner.
- Knowledge of child safety practices and first aid/CPR certification is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when necessary.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
- Physical stamina to supervise outdoor activities and engage with students actively.
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering a positive school environment.
