Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a respected healthcare team in Pikeville, Kentucky. This position offers the opportunity to perform advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures while working in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience, strong technical skills, and experience using Siemens imaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals while following radiation safety guidelines.
- Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and Siemens software to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Position patients appropriately and explain procedures to ensure comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and respond appropriately to any changes in condition.
- Review images for quality and completeness before submission for physician interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Perform quality control checks and routine maintenance on imaging equipment.
- Adhere to all radiation safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience – Required.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Nuclear Medicine Program – Required.
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) Certification – Required.
- Kentucky State Nuclear Medicine License/Certification – Required.
- BLS Certification – Required.
- Experience with Siemens imaging software – Required.
- Knowledge of keyboard patient registration systems – Required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety, quality assurance, and imaging protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of diagnostic quality.
