The Lobby Attendant / Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of all public areas of the hotel while supporting the housekeeping department with room attendant needs. This position plays a vital role in ensuring guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout their stay.
Public Area Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, front entrance, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, meeting spaces, and other common areas.
- Vacuum carpets, mop hard floors, dust furniture, and clean windows and glass surfaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the hotel.
- Restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Maintain the cleanliness of guest elevators and employee areas.
- Remove fingerprints, smudges, and debris from doors, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Ensure entrances remain clean and free of litter, snow, or other hazards as needed.
Houseman Responsibilities
- Deliver clean linens, towels, and guest supplies to housekeeping carts and storage rooms.
- Remove dirty linens and trash from guest room floors.
- Strip checkout rooms when assigned.
- Assist room attendants with heavy lifting, moving furniture, and special cleaning projects.
- Restock housekeeping closets with linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
- Deliver guest-requested items such as extra towels, pillows, blankets, cribs, rollaway beds, and toiletries.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and room inspections as directed.
Guest Service
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping service needs.
- Maintain a positive, helpful attitude while interacting with guests and coworkers.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all hotel safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Practice safe lifting techniques.
- Follow all hotel brand standards and housekeeping procedures.
- Wear required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Pay: $12.50 - $15.00 per hour
