Overview
CARGO EXPRESS 360 INC. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics & Freight Operations Coordinator to support daily transportation, freight coordination, shipment tracking, and delivery operations. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments from pickup through final delivery, communicating with drivers, carriers, customers, warehouses, and logistics partners, and maintaining accurate transportation documentation.
The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and able to manage multiple time-sensitive shipments while maintaining excellent communication, accuracy, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily freight shipments, pickups, deliveries, and transportation schedules
- Monitor shipments from origin to destination and provide timely status updates
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, brokers, warehouses, and third-party logistics providers
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments and coordinate changes when necessary
- Prepare and maintain bills of lading, rate confirmations, delivery receipts, freight invoices, shipping documents, and operational records
- Maintain accurate shipment information in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch platforms, and internal databases
- Assist with load planning, route coordination, carrier assignments, and transportation capacity management
- Track transportation costs, delivery performance, carrier service levels, and key logistics KPIs
- Investigate and resolve shipment delays, missed appointments, damaged freight, lost shipments, and documentation discrepancies
- Support freight claims and maintain complete records for transportation-related incidents
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure freight is properly received, prepared, loaded, and dispatched
- Provide customers with accurate and timely information regarding shipment status and delivery schedules
- Ensure transportation operations follow company policies, applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements, and safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in transportation, logistics, freight operations, dispatch, trucking, or supply chain management preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong attention to detail when handling freight and transportation documentation
- Ability to work effectively under time-sensitive conditions
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), dispatch software, fleet management platforms, or freight brokerage systems
- Familiarity with FTL, LTL, regional, long-haul, and expedited freight operations
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
- Experience with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or freight management platforms
- Advanced Excel skills and experience preparing transportation reports and operational dashboards
