Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dishes and seasonal specials
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere strictly to safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including knives, cutting boards, and cooking equipment
- Support food service operations by plating dishes efficiently and accurately for service
- Follow food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of food quality
Experience
- Prior kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and food preparation
- Strong knife skills with expertise in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and food safety regulations
- Experience in catering or meal preparation environments is a plus
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
