Grounds Porter

We’re looking for a dependable and hardworking Grounds Porter to help maintain the cleanliness and curb appeal of our apartment communities, The Carlisle and Waterstone, in Knoxville, TN. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and taking pride in keeping a property clean and welcoming, we’d love to hear from you.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday
What You’ll Do
This position focuses on property cleanliness and organization — not landscaping. No mowing or trimming required.
Responsibilities include:
- Picking up trash throughout the property using a pick stick, broom, and dustpan
- Keeping dumpster areas clean and tidy
- Cleaning breezeways using a backpack blower
- Changing bags at Mutt Mitt stations as needed
- Assisting with snow removal from sidewalks during winter weather
- Supporting the team with additional property upkeep tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to read and follow written work orders and instructions
- Comfortable operating backpack blowers and small equipment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Physical Requirements
This is an active, outdoor position. Candidates must be able to:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and snow
Uniform & Safety
- Company shirts and jackets provided
- Appropriate safety equipment must be worn and used at all times
Additional Requirements
All candidates must successfully complete:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Background check
