Seeking a Carpenter for high end residential construction

Responsibilities:
- Installing doors & windows for a whole house
- Installing moldings
- Install full kitchens of cabinetry
- Planning tasks for the team for the week
- Completing takeoffs, reviewing orders
- Reviews work for the team under them, instruct & teach
- Install complex door & window systems (Multipanel, pairs, pockets, etc)
- Install multipiece trim assemblies
- Layout tasks for a team by the day/week
- Work a full day independently on assigned tasks.
- Work competently with a team on more complex tasks.
- Layout framing components of a wall.
- Assist subs with blocking in requirements for their equipment.
- Look up basic building information in plans to complete tasks
- Monitor safety of the jobsite.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills:
· Able to read cabinet schematics, understand assembly of cabinets and finish materials
· Full ability to read & understand plans
· Ability to find info in spec books
· Solid understanding of MEPs & impact and reqs for framing & finishes
· Full knowledge of advanced carpentry math (geometry & trig) & terminology
· Map out and layout buildup for floors, walls, cabinetry, tile, and stone systems w/ waterproofing
· Instruct & oversee teams working on various building assemblies.
· Ability to teach and train others.
· Layout MEP dimensioning for subs
· Construct basic cabinetries & panel assemblies from scratch
· Materials takeoffs for finishes
· To plum, sq, & true a room framing to a 1/16th tolerance
· Construct building assemblies in curves & radii
· Review order submittals for accuracy on sizing & quantities
· Clear knowledge of framing systems for floors, walls, roofs, and ceilings, and any opening in them.
· Basic knowledge of stair building and full roof construction.
· Basic understanding of foundations and framing point loads.
· Understanding of site protection requirements and installation.
· Know the difference between elevation vs plan view, sections
· Understand how a detail fits into assembly
· Understand the difference between structural and architectural details
· Know when to stop and ask for clarification or assistance.
· Understanding of structural integrity of beams & posts, hole drilling guide.
· Ability to install doors and windows plum & square.
· Basic understanding of siding & waterproofing systems.
· Ability to create an organized list of materials, consumables, and tools needed for their assigned task for the day or week and communicate it to the team.
Requirements:
- 3+ years construction experience preferably on high-end projects.
- Punctuality and a professional demeanor.
- Specialized finish tools (nail guns, joiners, planes, etc) router, biscuit joiner, coping saw, etc.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Compensation
- This is a full-time, non-exempt role.
- Pay range: $42.00 - $60.00 per hour
