Amy’s Bread has an immediate opening for an Evening Pastry Baker to join our pastry kitchen at our bakery in Long Island City, Queens, 2 blocks from the 7 train. This part time position is for 3-4 nights per week, weekends included (shift starts at 5:30pm until about 1:30am)
Primary responsibilities include baking and packing breakfast pastries for the Amy’s Bread retail stores and our wholesale accounts. If you love baking muffins, scones, croissants, Danish, sticky buns, and biscuits, this is the job for you.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with little supervision. Good hand skills, careful attention to detail, and good command of English are also a requirement. The ability to follow recipes as they are written, willingness to take direction, and accept constructive criticism is a must. The ability to work on your feet for 7 hours and lift up to 50 lbs is required.
2 years of professional baking/kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred.
