Responsibilities
- Install and configure electrical security systems including alarm, access control, CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, and door security integrations in residential settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, and system components using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical blueprints to accurately install and modify security infrastructure.
- Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of surveillance cameras, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, and remote access software.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for system malfunctions or failures across various hardware and network components.
- Collaborate with clients to explain system features, perform system upgrades, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and inspections while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience with power tools and hand tools for precise installations.
- Strong background in field service operations involving equipment troubleshooting and system repairs.
- Proficiency with computer hardware, computer networking, remote access software, and surveillance technology.
- Knowledge of system design principles for electrical security systems including schematics interpretation and blueprint reading.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical systems such as fire alarms, alarm & access control systems, CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS technology, and door security integration.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for complex installations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Familiarity with NEC standards governing low-voltage wiring and electrical safety practices.
- Competence in cabling techniques, electrical wiring installation, equipment troubleshooting support, and use of power tools safely.
- Prior service technician experience preferred; knowledge of electrical security system installation highly valued.
