Private Chef Assistant
Lauren & Leo's is a growing private chef company serving busy families throughout Sarasota. We prepare customized, whole-food meals in our clients' homes, with every menu tailored to their health goals, dietary needs, and personal preferences.
We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Private Chef Assistant who takes pride in creating an exceptional client experience. This is much more than a kitchen job. You'll be working inside beautiful homes alongside our head chef, helping create an organized, seamless experience for our clients.
This position offers significant room for growth. As our company expands, the right candidate will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities and potentially become a lead private chef with their own clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist our head chef during weekly in-home cook days
- Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients
- Prepare select breakfast items, snacks, and baked goods using established recipes
- Portion meals into containers and label finished meals
- Organize refrigerators and rotate ingredients
- Help maintain an organized cooking workspace throughout the day
- Thoroughly clean the kitchen before leaving each client's home
- Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards
- Deliver a polished, professional experience for every client
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous cooking experience (restaurant, catering, meal prep, private chef, or equivalent)
- Is comfortable preparing meals
- Is detail-oriented and highly organized
- Is dependable and arrives on time
- Is calm, professional, and respectful while working inside clients' homes
- Is comfortable working with gluten-free and dairy-free recipes and understands the importance of food allergies
- Can lift 40 pounds
- Has reliable transportation
- Speaks English fluently (Spanish is a plus)
- Can successfully pass a background check
Schedule
- Part-time
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week
- Monday through Thursday (with Sundays as a possible add on in the future)
- Daytime hours (generally between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM)
Compensation
- $24-$30 per hour, based on experience
- Paid training
