THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports audits and evaluations that help improve the effectiveness and compliance of Department operations. It focuses on analyzing information, preparing documentation and communicating findings clearly. As an Audit Specialist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Audit Preparation:Develop work papers, audit programs and testing procedures in line with professional standards
- Information Review:Examine laws, regulations and contracts to determine compliance with required procedures
- Testing Procedures:Select and apply audit steps based on risk assessments and assignment objectives
- Data Analysis:Analyze financial information, apply accounting principles and document conclusions clearly
- Report Writing:Summarize audit results and prepare recommendations supported by documented findings
- Client Communication:Maintain communication with auditees and discuss discrepancies and audit conclusions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- This is a travel position. Overnight travel is required. Travel expenses will be paid.
- The position will be headquartered in a district or county office closest to the selected candidate's home that meets needs and has available space.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Audit Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional auditing experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included the required eighteen [18] credits in accounting and auditing.
