As an Insurance Follow-up Specialist, you manage insurance claims, accounts receivable, collections, and payer follow up activities. Provide exceptional customer service.
Prepare, research, and collect information from various health insurance payers.
Research past-due accounts for potential collection activity or charity write-off consideration.
Research remits and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for complete accurate payments or denials.
Submits corrected claims or appeals.
Responsible for analyzing payer trends and reporting them to management.
Ability to resolve payer rejections and denials while identifying trends and recurring issues.
Strong communication skills that include reporting trends and issues to leadership.
Actively works private claims, discovering insurance and offering payment plans or options.

Required Qualifications:

High school education or G.E.D
-
1 year billing experience
-
Ability to type 35-45 w.p.m.

Computer skills
-
Knowledge of private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing procedures
-
Obtains CAC certification one year after released from billing audit
