Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and mechanical rollback vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles of various sizes, including trucks and cars.
- Perform minor mechanical vehicle repairs and basic troubleshooting to assess vehicle condition before recovery or loading.
- Secure cargo and ensure proper vehicle loading onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols for safe transportation.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics and automotive repair as needed to prepare vehicles for delivery or further servicing.
- Assist with vehicle recovery towing operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and conflict management protocols during challenging recoveries.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards, including safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding recovery procedures, estimated timelines, and safety measures.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including handling flatbed and tow trucks with manual transmissions.
- Skilled in cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of recovered vehicles.
- Ability to perform car towing, vehicle recovery towing, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers effectively.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving is highly preferred.
- Effective conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally during recoveries or customer interactions.
- Knowledge of safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks and adherence to all safety procedures during operations.
