Cook
Job Overview: The child care cook prepares food in accordance with the Child Care and Adult Food Program (CACFP) regulations, NC Licensing Regulations and NC Sanitation Requirements. The cook is responsible for maintaining local, federal, and state guidelines within the kitchen work area and other areas in the building.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee all nutritional needs for the children within the program. This will include but is not limited to:
o Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all classrooms as listed on the menu.
o Serve meals to each classroom on time, using correct portioning.
o Prepare food meeting the CACFP guidelines.
o Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas.
o Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
o Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
o Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment and/or accidents to the director immediately.
o Maintain a good working relationship with parents, students, and staff.
Qualifications:
o Must be at least 18 years of age.
o Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Other:
o Certificate in first aid and CPR.
o Documentation of Tuberculin-free condition
o Criminal Background Check
***This job has the option of part-time (7:30am-1:30pm) or full-time (7:30am-3:30pm).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
