Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and health coaching
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, phlebotomy, and dermal fillers with precision and adherence to sterile techniques
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate documentation and medical records management
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support patients remotely
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to ensure seamless patient transitions
Requirements
- Valid Family Nurse Practitioner certification with current state licensure
- Proven experience in medical office settings with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth
- Strong clinical skills in areas like acute care, hospital medicine, emergency room procedures, ICU or trauma center experience preferred
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing
- Experience with specialized treatments including botulinum toxin therapy, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, spinal taps, or gastrostomy feeding is a plus
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers highly desirable
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using sonography or laboratory testing; proficiency in specimen collection/processing is advantageous
- Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on physiology knowledge and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Additional skills in behavioral health management, pain control strategies including acute pain management, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine or working with individuals with disabilities are beneficial
