American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic medical center in Charleston, SC, with scrub and circulate requirements across a variety of general OR cases.

General OR setting within a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds

Must be able to both scrub and circulate general OR cases

Preferred case experience includes plastics, colorectal, urology, MIS, pancreatic/biliary, surgical oncology, and robotic surgery (facility operates 5 robots)

Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM

On-call is required, averaging 5–8 calls per month including at least one weekend call

Holiday call coverage may be required

Charting is done in Epic
-
Active SC RN license or compact/multi-state RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active before starting

Current AHA BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required

Demonstrated ability to both scrub and circulate general OR cases required

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

A radiation badge is required for this role and will be provided by the agency

Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are given priority

Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on department needs

Onboarding modules are completed prior to the assignment start date

First-time travelers are not preferred for this position

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity occurs in August and September

Parking is available at a nearby garage for a one-time $20 registration fee for a hang tag; the hang tag is only valid for that specific garage
